Seafood is the specialty of these islands. The unpolluted water of Andaman Sea abounds with varieties of fish, crabs, lobsters, prawns etc. Seafood is easily available and deliciously cooked. North Indian, South Indian, vegetarian, continental, Chinese dishes are also available. South Indian, North Indian, Chettinadu, Continental, Chinese, Tandoori, Sea Foods.

At Port Blair there is a large government hospital capable of handling most medical Cases. There is only one Primary Health Centre in Havelock.
Do carry your medical prescriptions and enough medicines to make your journey hassle-free. Medical facility will be arranged on the guests own cost.
DRUGS
In most countries even the smallest quantity of an illegal substance is considered a very serious offence and can carry lengthy jail terms. Avoid any contact with illegal drugs. Don't put yourself and others at risk and never carry bags or luggage for other people. Any person found to be carrying or using illegal drugs will be asked to leave the trip immediately without the right to any refund.
EVENTS & FESTIVALS
October is a month for many festivals in Andaman including Durga Pooja and Mari Amman festivals. December - January is mesmerizing with the 10 day Island Tourism Festival.
ELECTRICITY
The standard voltage of electric supply in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is between 220 – 240 Volts. Two and three pin plugs are widely used.

Andaman has settlers from all over India, hence most of them speak Hindi, and the other languages spoken are English, Tamil & Bengali, and Telugu.

Good in Port Blair, but very poor dial up connections on extremely slow speeds in most other important Islands like Havelock and Neil.
Satellite internet is available in Havelock although expensive. Data cards (of a few companies) work in Port Blair, however do not work at all on other Islands. Most of the islands do not have internet access at all.
MOBILE AND TELEPHONE ACCESS
Mobile providers include BSNL, Vodafone and Airtel with Reliance functioning currently only in Port Blair with excellent connectivity. As you travel away from the city of Port Blair to outer city limits or other islands, connectivity may become weak.
